About

My name is Jen Kerr and I’ve been a hairdresser in Austin for 10 years. A San Diego native, I started my cosmetology career 12 years ago at Paul Mitchell the School San Diego and developed my passion for all things hair, including my thirst for a comprehensive knowledge of how hair works and of course my love of Blonding. With a beginning in high end salons, I switched gears to obtain my Cosmetology Instructor license at Paul Mitchell the School Austin and taught fundamental cosmetology as well as practical salon application for two years.

While working at the school, I also dove into men’s cutting that lead me down a wonderful, several year path of barbering and salon management. Switching gears again, this time back into a high end platform, I began my career with local company SALON by milk + honey and enjoyed over four years with them before venturing out on my own.

After 12 years, central Texas is home. I love our friendly, quirky Texas capital and some of my favorite places are Aviary Wine & Kitchen and Justine's! You can often see me enjoying bubbles at Best Little Wine & Books in Lockhart or walking my two miniature schnauzers, Sgt. Pepper and Sookie. Outside of hair, I’m an avid outdoors(wo)man and sun goddess, connoisseur of fine wines, frozen drinks and BBQ.

Fun Fact about the salon is that it's themed after my most beloved West Texas gem, Big Bend National Park and the eclectic, desert vibe of the surrounding areas. The music that plays in the salon is always a playlist I have listened to while on a trip out there!
